Resilient Clouds*
Abstract
*Formerly Resilient Networks The Resilient Clouds program will create technologies to enable cloud computing systems to survive and operate through cyber attacks. Vulnerabilities found in current standalone and networked systems will be amplified in cloud computing environments. Resilient Clouds will address this by creating advanced network protocols and new approaches to computing in potentially compromised distributed environments. Particular attention will be focused on adapting defenses and allocating resources dynamically in response to attacks and compromises. Resilient Clouds will create new approaches to measuring trust, reaching consensus in compromised environments, and allocating resources in response to current threats and computational requirements. Resilient Clouds will develop new verification and control techniques for networks embedded in clouds that must function reliably in complex adversarial environments.
