Sub-surface Sensor Algorithm Improvement Program
Abstract
NUCLEAR PHYSICAL SECURITY The focus of this program is to concentrate on detection, classification, and localization (DCL) software performance rather than sensor hardware to improve underwater sensor performance, especially focused on swimmer detection. The combination of common DCL needs and impending modularization opens up the possibility that an R&D effort specifically focused upon DCL algorithm improvement can provide benefit to the full range of waterfront security constituencies. Objectives are to: (1) produce and deliver improved sub-surface maritime physical security DCL algorithms and (2) create a process by which the performance of DCL algorithms can be consistently and objectively evaluated independent from hardware
