Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) and Committee of Principals (CoP)

Abstract

The Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) is a joint Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) organization established by Congress to facilitate cooperation and coordination between the two Departments as they fulfill their dual agency responsibilities for U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile management.
