Long Range Planning (LRP)
Abstract
The Long Range Planning (LRP) task analyzes systems to identify common potential modifications required to meet user objectives relative to long term sustainment, technology insertion, employment, and force structure. The studies focus on system supportability, operability, reliability, and maintainability. Options/concepts generated by these studies are evaluated for feasibility, system impacts, and cost. The LRP also lays the groundwork for analysis supporting future weapon systems development and deployment. This program is in Budget Activity 04 - Advanced Component Development and Prototypes because the efforts demonstrate technology, component, and subsystem maturity, and provide risk reduction.
