Nuclear Weapons Support
Abstract
The Weapon Storage and Security System (WS3) supports mission by providing the capability to securely and safely store resources deployed in Europe. The Vault Modernization Program (VMP) will address the modernization of the vault components. In addition, the VMP will resolve sustainment issues caused by obsolescence. This program is in Budget Activity 5, System Development and Demonstration (SDD) because it has passed Milestone B approval and is conducting engineering and manufacturing development tasks aimed at meeting validated requirements prior to full rate production.
