Program Budget Enterprise Service (PBES)
Abstract
The Program and Budget Enterprise Service (PBES) is a software development effort that will utilize a service oriented architecture (SOA) to deliver budgeting and programming capability for the United States Air Force (USAF). PBES will replace legacy systems such as as the Automated Budget Interactive Data Environment System (ABIDES) and the Resource Allocation Programming Information Decision System (RAPIDS) and will support the budget formulation and force programming process. Began Release 1 Proof of Concept effort with Department of the Treasury on 23 September 2013. Activities also include studies and analysis to support both current program planning and execution and future program planning. Air Force Corporate Structure will address funding for FY17 and beyond.
