Protection Sciences
Abstract
This effort seeks to improve fundamental knowledge of mechanisms that can be exploited to ensure the next generation of lightweight and efficient armor technologies. Provides physics-based discovery of novel Soldier protection mechanisms through increased understanding of wave propagation through tissue, and the resulting deformation and damage of tissue during ballistic and blast events.
