N/MEMS Science and Focus Centers
Abstract
(U)The goal of the N/MEMS Science and Focus Centers program is to support the development of an enhanced fundamental understanding of a number of important technical issues critical to the continuing advance of nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technologies and their transition into military systems. The basic research work to be conducted under the program is responsive to recognized challenges in a comprehensive range of technical areas pertinent to future Department of Defense (DoD) needs. Industrial cost sharing is an important element of the overall effort.
