Abstract
*Formerly Protecting C3 Networks (PC3N) The Searchlight program will develop technologies to ensure quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees are met for distributed applications operating across the Internet. The increasing use of Internet-based distributed applications creates risks as surges in network use can result in resource shortfalls. Searchlight will develop novel approaches for allocating inherently limited network resources to optimize the performance of distributed applications. Searchlight techniques and systems will enable organizations to adapt the QoS for their low-priority traffic to result in improved QoS for their high-priority traffic without affecting traffic from other Internet users.
