12) Reactivators of AChE as Therapeutics (ReACT)

Abstract

The warfighter requires rapid acting medical countermeasures (MCMs) to counter adverse effects from exposure to Nerve Agents (NAs) and maintain force lethality. This effort involves the development of improved therapies for acetylcholinesterase enzyme reactivation. Efforts in this area are designed to develop potential candidates that will ultimately be submitted for U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensure or to identify previously licensed products for new uses in the treatment of chemical warfare casualties.
