Radiological Health Effects
Abstract
Develop in vivo models, assays, and other enabling technologies to support transition of candidate MCM(s) and to reduce risk during advanced development. This efforts will include the identification and characterization of biomarkers to establish novel druggable targets, understanding differences in species sensitivity to radiation, evaluating direct and indirect mechanisms of actions of high and low linear energy transfer (LET) radiation sources (e.g., neutrons, gamma), and, determining radiosensitivity and radioresistance of various systems/organs.
