Abstract

The QF-16 FSAT is being developed as a 4th generation, full scale, threat representative target providing a replacement for the FSAT/QF-4 and are maintained and operated by the Air Force. The QF-16 FSAT is a converted F-16 aircraft that provides a supersonic, high altitude, remote-controlled aerial target. This target will have full command and control capability through normal flight envelopes. The QF-16 FSAT target presentations will support aircraft and weapons systems testing and development, including that of the Joint Strike Fighter, AIM-9X Sidewinder missile, AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile, and Standard Missile-6.
