Autonomous Systems

Abstract

This project area addresses current and anticipated DoD mission needs in autonomous robotics. In DoD environments, unmanned systems must perform useful tasks as trusted, capable agents without continuous human operator control. These capabilities must be adapted to low-size, weight and power (SWAP) systems. Efforts include development of autonomy algorithms and technologies, such as perception and world modeling, planning, human-robot interaction, manipulation, learning and adaptation, and robotic platforms.
