Synergistic Vehicle Protection Technologies

Abstract

This effort investigates and integrates advanced synergistic survivability technologies and simulation tools to provide enhanced protection for ground vehicles while minimizing overall system burdens. Synergistic survivability technologies such as, armor and active protection, offer the potential of non-linear survivability improvements. The modular approach facilities trade-offs between protection, payload, performance, cost drivers and performance of vulnerability assessments throughout the life cycle of a system. Provides quantifiable metrics for development of requirements and evaluation of concept feasibility in the development of survivable combat systems.
