LGM-30G Cadmium Replacement Program (CaDRP) - FY 16 New Start

Abstract

Cadmium plating is used in LCC and LF motor generators. Motor generator parts are coated with the material to inhibit corrosion, ensure a low electrical signature (bonding and grounding), and aid in the ability to withstand a nuclear environment. Cadmium is an EPA-17 chemical selected for reduction. CaDRP will provide a cadmium replacement coating with the same properties for corrosion inhibiting, bonding and grounding, and nuclear event survivability to meet these directives.
