Abstract
This Program focuses on a number of fundamental scientific areas that are aimed at expanding the underlying understanding of disciplines that are broadly useful for a wide range of Naval applications, including: undersea weaponry; air weaponry; energetic materials and solid rocket propulsion; expeditionary operations, including communications, materials, landmine detection, human sensory enhancements, lightweight power sources and information efficiency; directed energy and counter directed energy, hypersonic aerodynamics and materials, and applied electromagnetics. This activity includes peer-review basic research to develop fundamental knowledge and enhance the science and engineering workforce and technology base.
