Non-Persistent Desktop Browsing (NPDB)

Abstract

NPDB provides a desktop browsing environment that protects the enterprise from the adversary‘s exploitation of the browser by containing the adversary within the virtual environment. At the next invocation of the browser, a pristine, trusted desktop will be automatically invoked, removing the adversary presence, even if the intrusion was undetected. NPDB prevents infiltration from external threats, ex-filtration of protected information, Command and Control denial of service, and delivers Cyber Surveillance/Situational Awareness through fusion of heterogeneous sensors data. Infected sessions are restored in seconds and a pristine copy of the NPDB can be spawned quickly, and the infected copy quarantined for analysis, or discarded, without loss of functionality to the user, required of current desktop reimaging processes.
