Aegis Layered Homeland Defense Development

Abstract

Aegis Weapon System (AWS) and SM-3 Block IIA software modifications to existing systems to support a phased delivery of operational capability against expanded threat/mission space. Aegis Underlay efforts will initially operationalize residual defense capability aligned with FTM-44 and, in the second phase, will add capability for Aegis BMD to provide an initial under layer capability to GMD in support of Homeland Defense.
