Abstract

Multi-fuel Submersible Outboard Engines validates testing of a patented Italian air-assisted, direct-injection, fuel delivery system integrated into commercial off-the-shelf, lightweight, submersible outboard engine to produce non-gasoline burning outboard engine capable of using multiple fuels. The primary output is compliance with Department of Defense (DOD) Directive 4140.25 Management Policy for Energy Commodities and Related Services which mandates the conversion of combat systems to common, less combustible fuels by 2010. Fielding reduction is greater than eight years.
