Future X-Band Radar (Navy)
Abstract
FY 2017 New Start - Tests an off-the-shelf open-architecture Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) X-band aircraft radar for potential application to the Navy's Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) program for ships. Currently, AMDR lacks a modern AESA X-band component to provide horizon surveillance against current and future threats. Completed initial test planning in 4Q FY 2017.
