Protected Tactical Demonstration
Abstract
Previously funded in the Protected MILSATCOM "Design for Affordability" effort, the Protected Tactical Demonstration will develop and demonstrate prototype Terminal Modem (TM) Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) utilizing PTW over wideband space/ground systems with an option to demonstrate over a commercial SATCOM system and design and build the Mission Management System (MMS) simulator. Develop PTW components, protected tactical terminal modems that will be capable of being fully integrated into existing wideband terminals, and a new End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) that will support the PTW. The ECUs will be integrated with the PTW modem and verified by NSA. The Protected Tactical Demonstration will produce an Anti-Jam (AJ) and Low Probability of Intercept (LPI)/Low Probability of Detection (LPD) communications capability that can be provided to tactical users in all Services through fielded terminals, existing wideband MILSATCOM assets, and potential COMSATCOM assets.
