Next-Gen OPIR-Space

Abstract

Development of the Next-Gen OPIR Polar and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) missile warning satellites with a proven bus, new hardened sensors, and auxiliary payloads for increased resilience. The space segment will consist of GEO and Polar satellites in a resilient architecture, providing real time persistent global infrared coverage. Note: FY2018 funding for Next-Gen OPIR-Space is included in Project 657106 in PEs 1206441F ($4.100M) and 1206442F ($8.050M).
