Underbody Blast Testing

Abstract

Will provide an understanding of the biomechanics of skeletal injuries that occur in a combat vehicle UBB event involving a landmine or IED, and will provide the biomedical basis for the development of a Warrior-representative blast test manikin and associated biomedically-validated injury criteria that can be used to characterize dynamic events and injury risks for live-fire test and evaluation (LFT&E) crew survivability assessments and vehicle development efforts to better protect Warriors from UBB threats.
