MxD – Manufacturing times Digital (Digital Manufacturing, Design and Cybersecurity)
Abstract
MxD focuses on the implementation of the Digital Thread, the unencumbered flow of data across the lifecycle of a manufactured product encompassing data from design, production, supply, sourcing, inventory, assembly, quality, maintenance and sustainment. It includes the analysis of this data to reduce the time and cost of bringing new products to market, the elimination of barriers between design, manufacturing and sustainment by using both product data and process data in a way that is seamless and transparent. MxD’s focus areas are: (1) Future Factory, 2) Agile and Resilient Supply Chain, 3) Cyber Security for Manufacturing, and 4) Design, Product Development and System Engineering.
