Tactical Beyond-Line-of-Sight (TBLOS) Communications Extension System (USSOCOM)

Abstract

Validates a man-portable, TBLOS troposcatter terminal that increases existing range of the tactical network data throughput for 16 Megabytes per second (Mbps) links from 22 kilometers (KM) line-of-sight, to 44 KM, while reducing/eliminating vulnerable relay sights. The primary outputs and efficiencies to be demonstrated in the project are easy setup, lower cost, TBLOS network data throughput and to also avoid Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), production and operations and support costs worth approximately $13.500 million.
