Expeditionary Solid Waste Disposal (ESWDS) for Small Base Camps
Abstract
Provides an integrated waste management (reduction, treatment or disposal process) add-on capability that can safely process 1,000 pounds (lbs) or more of mixed solid waste in a single day on site. Mixed solid waste produced on a single 150 person site must be properly managed through reduction, reuse, recycling, treatment, or disposal. Most of the waste is nonhazardous solid waste. Provides a substantial improvement over the current practice of burn pits that poses a health risk to Soldiers and/or the backhaul logistics burden.
