Active Expendable Decoys (Air Force)
Abstract
This project evaluates expendable Digital Radio Frequency Memory countermeasures for use on 4th Generation Fighter aircraft. This technology provides increased protection against modern air-to-air and surface-to-air radio frequency guided missiles. If successful, the technology will transition to F-15, F-16, and F-18 electronic warfare programs for procurement. Contract preparation occurred in FY 2019. In 2Q FY 2020, aircraft integration was completed. Full avionics testing occurred in 3Q FY 2020. Flight testing will occur 1Q FY 2021. Live demonstrations to occur in 3Q FY 2021. The Program Manager will make a transition decision and a close out report will be completed in 4Q FY 2021 with FY 2020 funds.
