Compact High Power Radio Frequency Directed Energy (HPRF-DE) Source (Navy/USMC)

Abstract

This project will test state-of-the-art HPRF magnetron microwave tubes and solid state power modulators, and evaluate the non-lethal effects offered by this flexible modulator technology. This approach provides the warfighter a capability between “shouting and shooting” by delivering electromagnetic energy that will disrupt, disable, or potentially destroy critical vehicle/vessel electronic circuitry. HPRF-DE is currently in use in United Kingdom and supports Joint Non-Lethal Directorate and Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
