ISF supports joint, interagency, and other partners who apply investigative and forensic science methods, means, or practices for forensic intelligence or investigations. To meet this objective, the subgroup focuses on rapid research, development, test and evaluation of new and advanced technology, equipment, forensic techniques, and tools, as well as development of information resources and decision support tools for risk-based decision making and rapid exploitation of evidence. Projects emphasize rapid and field DNA analysis, identification of insider threat within agencies, pre and post-blast forensic examination, electronic evidence data acquisition, sensitive site exploitation, forensic intelligence, and criminalistics.
