Continuous Sound Velocity

Abstract

NUCLEAR PHYSICAL SECURITY The Navy’s Waterside Security System (WSS) requires accurate bulk underwater sound velocity data. The sound velocity data is used to accurately compute the geographic (geo) location of tracks output from the ADCAP WQX-2 swimmer/diver detection sonar. The objectives of this effort are to determine the accuracy and effectiveness of the current sound velocity and motion compensation algorithms in the ADCAP Version 4.0 sonar processor application. Actual data will be collected from an operational site over a period of time.
