F-22 Global Positioning System (GPS) Military Code (M-Code)

Abstract

The F-22 GPS M-Code program consists of the software and hardware development, test and fielding necessary to ensure the F-22’s ability to maintain Precision, Navigation and Timing (PNT) capabilities in GPS degraded environments. This effort will include the integration of Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System (INS) Modernization (EGI-M) onto the F-22 for M-Code, replacement of the current GPS antenna with a Controlled Radiation Pattern Antenna (CRPA), as well as other capabilities, to prevent exploitation of the weapon system by adversaries and provide assured PNT.
