BMDS Verification, Validation & Assessment (VV&A)
Abstract
This activity includes Missile Defense System Assessment and VV&A activities to support OCB delivery decisions, and anchor System M&S. Recurring Accomplishments: - Verify Missile Defense System performance, and produce verification status reports - Conduct extensive analysis of data collected in System ground and flight test events, instrumental to understanding Missile Defense System operations and performance and anchoring models and simulations - Identify mitigation approaches for Missile Defense System performance issues uncovered during system level analysis and assessment - Maintain M&S VV&A database, and verification data for Missile Defense System Specification Change Notices - Develop, maintain, and update the M&S VV&A tool kit - Provide recommendations for improving assessment confidence, including M&S and testing issue resolutions - Conduct V&V in support of MDA System-level accreditation process in support of Missile Defense System Ground Test and performance assessment events - Conduct specified System-level post-flight reconstructions, element post-flight reconstructions, and pre-mission testing events so as to optimize the body of evidence and analysis supporting system-level Missile Defense System accreditation.
