Product Architectures, Design and Manufacturing for Operational Responsiveness

Abstract

This project demonstrates the gains to be realized by tightly coupling product architectures with manufacturing and design tools, using a prototype unmanned aerial system (UAS) architecture for demonstration purposes. The UAS architecture serves as a test bed for research in system physical and autonomy architectures and their complementary design tools and in applying additive manufacturing to accelerate manufacture by orders of magnitude.
