Abstract
CEC integrates Identification Friend Foe (IFF) Mode 4 and 5 information and distributes that information within the CEC network for improved tracking, Composite Identification, and Combat Identification. Fleet operational requirements necessitate acceleration of IFF Mode 5 improvements within CEC that include software corrections to existing functionality as well as IFF integration design improvements for all CEC configurations that support IFF Mode 5 including E-2D Delta System Software Configuration version (DSSC) 3, Aegis Weapon System Baseline 7.2 and above, and Ship Self Defense System SSDS) Mk 2 Build 10 and above. In addition, acceleration of IFF Mode 5 integration with multiple combat system configurations is required including Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Mk 2 Builds 6 and 9. For these configurations, IFF Mode 5 functionality will be added to CEC and SSDS prior to originally planned SSDS and CEC modernization schedules.
