Multi Dimensional Mobility Robot (MDMR)
Abstract
(U) The Multi Dimensional Mobility Robot (MDMR) program investigated concepts using serpentine mobility to achieve new ground robot capabilities for search and rescue applications. Examples of these capabilities include: overcoming obstacles that are a significant fraction of its length, crossing slippery surfaces, ascending poles, climbing steep slopes, and optically sensing its immediate surroundings.
