Tracking Illicit Networks and Linkages Facilitating Jihadist Terrorist Attacks Using New Methods of Analysis & Communication

Abstract

This project is a collaborative research effort involving the Institute for the Study of Violent Groups (ISVG) and Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy who will study patterns of interaction and communication among various types of illicit networks operating within and across U.S. boundaries. The results of these analyses will be summarized and linked to earlier studies in an existing semantic wiki data base at the U.S. Naval Academy that is designed to track transnational Jihadist terrorist activities worldwide.
