Shosty

Abstract

Shosty developed and demonstrated enhanced capabilities for high frequency (HF) over-the-horizon-radar (OTHR) systems. This program developed techniques to characterize distributed skywave HF radar propagation channels and measure radar backscatter from the surface. System signal processing, modeling, analysis, and over-the-air experimentation were conducted to assess performance. Technologies developed under the Shosty program transitioned to the Services.
