LIMITS OF OPERATION OF K-19 BOMBING MODE

Abstract

Approximate expressions for the maximum bomb-release range and the maximum clearance from impact point for bombs released from fighter aircraft are derived as functions of speed and lead angle. Values for various speeds from 300 to 700 knots are tabulated for a 12 deg lead. The shape of the K-19 bombing path and its operation limits in the bombing mode are discussed as well as the compensation provided for wind and target velocity.
