THE ELECTRICAL STABILITY OF HIGH CURRENT ARCS IN AIR AND IN CONTROLLED GASEOUS MIXTURES
Abstract
Research is being conducted to determine the extent to which th e electrical behavior of an arc is influenced by gaseous mixtures. One phase of the investigation is concerned with the characterisitics of the W arc in A-He mixtures. The other deals with self-generated oscillations in the dc carbon arc.
