REMOVAL OF NA2O FROM A NAK SYSTEM USING A NATURAL CIRCULATION COLD TRAP

Abstract

Determinations were made of the bulk density of NaK-Na sub2 O in a cold-trap system utilized for the removal of O from eutectic NaK. The cold trap was no longer effective when the Na sub2 O reached 21% by weight of the cold- trap contents. The average O removal rate was 0.0006 wt-%/hr (46 mg O/hr).
