TESTS ON A MODIFIED TYPE ' 'R' ' PARACHUTE. VALETTA C MK. 1 VL.262

Abstract

The type-R parachute with a static line 18-22 ft long tied to a 50-lb pack closing tie and to the apex of the main canopy was satisfactory for low-level (about 300 ft) dropping of packages either manually or by means of an ejector platform from the paratroop exit of Valetta aircraft. The apex tie was a single loop of 150-lb cord.
