A KINEMATIC-GRAPHICAL METHOD FOR THE 24 HOUR PROGNOSIS OF THE 500-MB CHART

Abstract

A technique is described for 24-hr prognosis of the upper contour field. The method covers 1/2 to 2/3 of the hemisphere and latitudes 20 deg to 75 deg. Three carefully drawn, successive 500-mb charts, which are 24 hr apart and maintain continuity, are combined on a light table to obtain a fourth position for charcteristic features of each contour line. The general aspects of the method areillustrted with several models.
