EVALUATION OF METHODS OF GENERATING OXYGEN FROM SOLID CHEMICALS FOR AIRCRAFT BREATHING SYSTEMS

Abstract

The Na chlorate candle, developed by the Luftwaffe as a source of O, has excellent storage and handling features. However, its performance is erratic, and it is extremely susceptible to being exploded as the result of even the most minute impurity. No assurance of improvement from further investigation seems possible.
