CATAPULT AND ARRESTED LANDING TEST OF PRACTICE BOMB 1000 POUND, TYPE EX 16 MOD 0

Abstract

Acceleration and deceleration of up to 12.6 along the longitudinal axis of the bomb produced no signal failure of deformation. Dents which were not considered serious were produced in the sway-brace area by side loads of 3.3 g; these increased progressively with the load. The bomb was satisfactorily ejected from a Douglas bomb ejector by using a Mk 1 cartridge.
