RADIOPHOTOLUMINESCENT AND TENEBRESCENT GLASSES

Abstract

Investigations were initiated to determine, the cause of optical changes produced by x- or gamma-radiation in glasses. Studies are being made to select and develop compositions which combine optimum indication and integration of x- or gamma-radiation with desirable technological properties affecting their eventual manufacture. An evaluation is being made of tenebrescent glasses which will fluoresce in a manner similar to the existing dosimeter glasses without radiation by x- or gamma-rays.
