BUCKLING OF SANDWICH CYLINDERS UNDER COMBINED COMPRESSION, TORSION, AND BENDING LOADS

Abstract

Buckling loads are calculated by using Galerkin's method to sol ve Donnell's equation modified to include the effects of transverse shear for sandwich curved plates and shells. These loads are plotted in the form of interaction curves. In the limiting cases of bending alone, axial compression alone, torsion alone, and combined bending and axial compression, the results agree with those previously obtained.
