SOLID-STATE AND MOLECULAR THEORY GROUP QUARTERLY PROGRESS REPT. NO. 9

Abstract

Progress is reported on studies of energy bands in Cr, a simplified tight binding method for energy bands, a 2-electron example of ferromagnetism, a system of 2 p electrons, the application of the spin operator method to configuration interaction, antiferromagnetism, an extension of Hund's rule, the O2 ground electronic wave function, the ethane and H2O molecules, limited configuration interaction treatment of the NH3 molecule, configuration interaction applied to the H molecule, configuration interaction for the F molecule, nuclear electric quadrupole interaction in the KCl molecule, interstitial diffusion in the diamond structure, a study of 2Zp in atoms, atomic multiplet separations, an analytic determination of atomic energy levels in Mg, and thermal vibrations of Cu-Zn system crystals.
