FRAGMENTATION TESTS OF 2'.'75 DACR ROCKETS, T131

Abstract

Tests were conducted to determine the fragmentation characteristics of the composition B loaded 2.75-in. DACR rocket T131E2. The rocket was designed to penetrate 1/4-in. Al and damage a target mainly by blast. When detonated statically, the rocket produced very fine fragments, an average median fragment velocity of 5990 fps, and an average of 458 fragment hits in total polar zone 55 deg-115 deg with the heaviest concentration in the 90 deg-100 deg zone.
