SPECIAL CORES TAKEN IN THE YORK RIVER FOR THE NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY

Abstract

An analysis was made of core samples taken during Operation Mud. The sediments in the York River area were predominantly sand. Size-distribution determinations were obtained for samples selected at various depths on the basis of lithologic changes in the cores. Cumulative curves and the parameters and central tendencies calculated from them are presented.
