URBAN GEOGRAPHY: STATUS OF RESEARCH IN AMERICAN GEOGRAPHY

Abstract

The literature relating to urban geography was reviewed. Topics discussed include the history of urban studies, supporting and tributary areas, site and situation, distribution of cities, economic base of cities, internal forms and patterns, concepts of urban growth, land uses, size of cities, application of urban geography, and needed research in urban geography.
